50 Year Reunion

Hopefully we are all getting excited to attend our 50th East High School reunion!!!!  Here is a summary of the three main events.  See below for more details.

Classmates Only Evening Get Together   Friday, August 21, 2015, 7-8:45 PM at Sunnyside Park Pavillion

Breakfast and School Tour   Saturday, August 22, 2015, 9-11:00 AM at the school

Reunion Dinner   Saturday, August 22, 2015, gathering starting at 6pm with dinner at 7pm at the Little America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City.  

Our goal is for this to be a reunion ALL OF US WANT to attend.  Here's the final, Mr. Richards approved,  official schedule of events:

Girls Only Party  I hope everyone is planning on attending the Girls Only party at my house (2400 E. Sunnyside Ave) on Thursday, August 20-- remember when that was a far distant date? Come anytime after 5:00pm with a finger food to share, or come empty handed. Come as you are, not as you were. We have a lot of catching up to do. You may want to bring your pajamas. Enter to win a bottle of White Shoulders. And... we may be visited by a worldly woman of Europe is a renowned reader of cards. "The cards tell all." Who knows? Golf Outing   Don Swenson has made arrangements at Bonneville Golf Course for 32 golfers -  8 foursomes on Friday 8/21 starting at 10am. Ladies are always welcome.  Sign up by contacting Don Swenson or Michael Reese.  This will just be a fun golf outing - not a Scramble, no car for a hole in one, just hit the ball, go find it, and hit it again.

Classmates Only Evening Get Together   Friday, August 21, 2015, 7-8:45 PM at Sunnyside Park Pavillion east up the hill from the school: A "classmates only" evening get-to-gether so we can get out all our hugs, kisses, and tears in the shroud of darkness. There will be name tags furnished (for obvious reasons) and light refreshments (cookies and punch) but mostly lots of un-chaperoned reminiscing and mingling into the night. Come on time as classmate attendance is mandatory and we need to get all the awkwardness resolved in privacy. Following this, at 8:45 PM, we will drive the 1/2 mile down 8th South to park east of the school by the football field. We can then walk across 13th East (look both ways before jaywalking) and there light-up, for the first time, the "Unity Tree" surrounded by beautiful red benches.... ALL DONATED BY US....THE CLASS OF OF '65!  This will be now forever be called the "Unity Courtyard" complete with a granite plaque commemorating the event. How cool is that?

Breakfast and School Tour   Saturday, August 22, 2015, 9-11:00 AM,  served inside the building down the stairs on the main floor but eaten anywhere you would like, including in the new "Unity Courtyard": A continental breakfast for spouses/partners and an optional tour of the rebuilt East High for those who missed "High School Musical". The object of this event is to draw more attention to our class donation of the "Unity Tree" and to meet everyone on both sides of the family, in the light of day so we all know each other before the main event that night. Name tags will be furnished because most of us now have short memories.

Reunion Dinner         Saturday evening, August 22, 2015, there are changes, so listen-up....especially those of you in the back.   Due to overwhelming response, we needed a bigger venue. The dinner will be held Saturday evening at the LITTLE AMERICA HOTEL in downtown Salt Lake City (just off the freeway at 5th So. & Main). We will begin gathering at 6:00 PM, the dinner will be served promptly at 7:00 PM. It will be buffet with roast beef, chicken, and lots of salads. There will be memorabilia tables, including rare artifacts preserved from our years at East, a short program, dancing for those interested and lots of fun into the evening......... romantic, nostalgic, historic, the most memorable reunion                  EAST HIGH CLASS OF '65 REUNION 😍
