Janelle Rouze was born in Salt Lake City on 19 June 1947 to Eugene Robert Rouze and Helene Louise Riser. She passed away in September 2023 in Salt Lake City where she lived all her life. Her sister Jacqueline and her parents predeceased her. She retired before 2004 and volunteered at an animal shelter

She was an outstanding student at East High graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She was on the committee for the East High Directory and was a member of the Leaders Club.
