Connie Durrant

Obituary: Connie Jean Durrant Wright 1947 ~ 2003 Our lovely Connie ended her journey here on Earth August 7, 2003, after conquering a decade of challenges. She is now at peace in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. She is at last with her mother, who died when Connie was only nine months old, her father, Nana and many loved ones who passed before her. She was born Aug 24, 1947 to Willard and LaVonne Durrant in Salt Lake City. She grew up in the Avenues and on a farm in Draper. She attended the University of Utah, married and reared five children. She was an active member of the LDS Church. Connie loved singing in the choir, visiting the temple every week, and participating in charity projects-always doing things for others. Connie was blessed with many talents. She painted and played piano. She made beautiful hand-made gifts, sewed, gardened and sang soprano like an angel. Her grandchildren will miss singing with their grandma and will forever cherish the special gifts she made for them. Connie was strong and overcame many medical obstacles always smiling and with a positive attitude. She was a true inspiration to all who knew and loved her. We are grateful Connie's life was extended because of a kidney donated from her daughter, Emilie. Connie loved sunflowers, baking, everything yellow, anything raspberry, lunching with her sisters, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She adored her pug, "Harley," who was a loyal companion and constant source of comfort to her. She is survived by her children, Angie (Dave), Steve (Bekah), Emilie (Troy), Jon (Jennifer), Heather; grandchildren, Jenna "bug," Ethan, Savanna, Lucas, Megan, Kelsey, Baylee, Dacota; former husband of nearly 20 years Cliff; sisters, Jackie (Glen), Judy (Dan), Kathy (Craig); step-brothers, Keith, John (Elaine), Ray (Ann); stepsister, Alta (Ralph); numerous nieces, nephews, and oodles of loving friends. She was preceded in death by both parents; her much adored stepmother, Anna Paskett Durrant "Nana;" and half-brother, Willard Durrant Jr. Services 11 a.m. Mon. Aug 11, 2003 Meadowbrook LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 1250 W. 4375 S. (Atherton), Taylorsville. Friends may call an hour prior to the services at the church. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral Directors, SereniCare. Connie will be missed terribly by those whose hearts she touched. We are all very lucky to have enjoyed her sweet spirit for a such long time.
