Mary Jean Christensen Grant, 63, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on August 19, 2010. She resided at 226 East 4800 South in Murray, Utah at the time of her death. Mary was born July 25, 1947 in Panguitch, Utah to John Oral Christensen and Fern Schow Christensen. Her father passed away when she was three years old and she cherished her dad, Joseph Winzenreid. She married the love of her life, Brent Maurice Grant, and they shared thirty-seven years together. She worked as a manager at American Stores for over twenty-one years and helped Brent in his business. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and spend time with those in need. She loved God and was a very spiritual person. Mary was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for the masses at family reunions, weddings, birthdays, and holidays. Mary always put her family first and did not want to be a burden to others. She cherished the time she spent with her grandkids, reading stories, singing, and always the best times spent in the mountains and in Yuma, Arizona. She was extremely close to her loving sisters and they had great times traveling together. Survived by her son, Mark (Lisa); grandkids, Brent, Sheridan, Garret, and Faith; foster son, Tom Hamby and his daughter, Jamie; sisters, Larue Thornton, Oraleen Johnson (Kent), Margaret Patterson (Blaine); brothers-in-law, Mike Grant (Elke), David Grant (Penny), Bob Grant (Cathy); sisters-in-law, Mary Etta Simpson and Linda Grant; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in the Murray Twelfth Ward Chapel, 363 East Vine Street. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, and Wednesday at the Church from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services.
