I attended "Herr" Zarr's funeral and was quite impressed by the number of accomplishments he had achieved during his lifetime.  I took German from him and as a senior, he allowed me to take "fourth year German" with two other native speakers.  It helped my language skills profoundly, and served me very well as I would eventually serve and LDS mission in Germany.  He also encouraged my interest in Soccer and although I was somewhat pathetic in playing the game, I did go on to play on a club team, "Berlin" afer high school.  Herr Zarr was a true mentor to many, even my mother who studied debate with him at East in the 1939.  His example is legend and he continues to be missed by many.  Thank you for remembering him on this, our 50th reunion.
