Thomas Eric Sather, loved husband, father, son and friend passed away Monday, September 28, 1998 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City after a short illness.

Thomas was born in Salt Lake City on March 11, 1947. He graduated from East High, served in the Coast Guard in Hawaii during the Viet Nam encounter and worked in both City government and private sector in the Salt Lake area throughout his lifetime to the present.He is survived by his wife, Joanne; his son, Erik; his daughter, Joy from a former marriage to Eleanor Spearman. Other survivors include his parents, Ellen and Andrew Sather; sister, Mary Ellen Peterson and family; and other extended family members who reside in the Seattle, Washington area.

A Memorial Service will be held at Memory Grove Park, 375 No. Canyon Road in Salt Lake City on Saturday, October 10, 1998 at 2-4 p.m. At the request of his wife and children, Thomas will be cremated.

Cards are welcome. However, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends send a donation to the Veterans Rehabilitation Center in Salt Lake City in Thomas' name.
