Ken Jarvis

Well, my wife thinks that I need to have more info in this section, so here it goes.
I was born at a very early age, in SLC, Ut. Then moved to San Antonio, Tx for 3 yrs and we moved back to SLC. I went to Jefferson and Douglas Elem, Roosevelt Jr and East High. Served in the Calif So mission covering So Cal and Arizona. Added a couple years of college along the way then moved to Chicago in 1970. One of my jobs was, you ready Kent, Bus Driver for the Chicago Transit Authority getting to drive the toughest neighborhoods on the North side including Cabrini Green, a notorious low income housing project. They wouldn't let white guys work on the south side. Chicago is the only place that I have been shot at (driving a bus).
I moved back to SLC, went to work at Sears while going to the "U" and met my wife at Sears. We married in Jan 1972. I bounced around in several jobs then moved to Costa Mesa, Ca and a short time latter started my Law Enforcement career. Moved back to SLC area (landed in West Bountiful) in July 1979 and joined the Bountiful PD. I then moved to West Valley PD then Midvale PD and finishing up with the Unified Police Dept. I was a Sgt for the last 20 yrs of my career. My main area of expertise was Accident Investigation and Reconstruction.
After a ruptured disc and two back surgeries I was forced to retire in July 2013. Now I drive a school bus for SLC schools. I go East High and Clayton twice a day.
We were blessed with four wonderful children and 9 grand children ( 3 from each child).
Jason (1973) played baseball (picther) into college finishing at Bellvue Univ in Neb, attaining Academic All American. He was drafted by the Yankees after his Junior year. He played 5 yrs in the minors.
Kia (1976) played Softball and Volleyball finishing up Volleyball at Bellevue as well, attaining Academic All American as well
Erika (1978) did softball and Drill team and played on the female rugby team (club sport) at USU. she got her masters, went to Goldman Sachs ,worked in London and met her husband there. They now live here.
Christopher (1980) played baseball and was better than his brother at 14, because of his brother. Unfortunately, Chris passed away two weeks before his 15th birthday as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning on a boating trip with his best friend.
By the way, I absolutely love being a Grandpa

Well, I co hosted the sophomore class assembly with Janet Strong. I had to sing a song with Janet. What a mismatch. She was awesome and I was just there. Like a BMW and a VW...I was the VW.
During the assembly we would pull down pieces of a banner after each number. The original banner read "Sophomore Class".
All of a sudden the football team on the front row went hysterical. The current pieces read "HOMOR ASS". Not our best day.
I believe that was the end of my performing career.
