Jean Edith Sperry Litchfield, age 50, passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998 at her home, of cancer. She was born April 20, 1947 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of David Edwards and Marjorie Taylor Sperry. She married Kay Pierson Litchfield, August 10, 1978 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Jean lived in Salt Lake City; Pleasanton, CA; Clearfield and Farmington, UT. She attended East High School and served a mission for the LDS Church to England. She was Stake Primary President, Ward Relief Society President and served in numerous other ward and stake positions. She learned and taught calligraphy, tole painting, Brazilian embroidery and many other crafts. She was Farmington Mother of the Year in 1996, served 11 years in Cub Scouting as den leader and in the district and on the council, receiving the District Award of Merit and attending Woodbadge. Jean felt her greatest calling in life was being a mother. She was a ray of sunshine and a breath of fresh air to those around her. She gave freely of her time and talents to others. She was dearly loved by all of her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Kay; three sons and two daughters, Ronald, Gerald, Anthony, Natalie and Janell, all of Farmington; her parents, David and Marjorie Sperry, Salt Lake City; a brother, Leo (Joan) Sperry, Salt Lake City; four sisters, Barbara (Leon) Badgett, Panorama City, CA; Kaye (Clarke) Williams, Clinton; Elaine Garlitz, Fontana, CA; Annette (Lee) Moulton, Salt Lake City; and a brother-in-law, LeRoy Fultz, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Fultz. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Oakridge LDS 9th Ward Chapel, 1280 West 1875 North, Farmington. Friends and family may call Monday at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, 6 to 9 p.m.,. and Tuesday at the chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery
